101 in 1001 days


This past weekend, Greg and I were looking around on the Internet and found Melissa Jill's 101 in 1001 days list. I've read this list before, I'm even on it, but I hadn't really been inspired to do one myself. As Greg and I were looking through it, we found that we are able to or would like to help Melissa with some of her goals. It started out as a joke but the more we read through the list, the more inspired we became to create our own lists. Greg challenged me to make my own 101 list but I don't think he really thought I would do it. Well, I showed him!!!

Since tomorrow is the start of a new month I figured I should start my own list on that day. After reading through Mel's list (and placing myself into a few of her goals) along with many other people's lists, I've finalized all 101 goals. Feel free to leave a comment letting me know which goals you'd like to be a part of. And with no further ado...here's my list:

101 in 1001 Days

1. Buy a house
2. Take a road trip with Melissa and BE in pictures of cool places along the way -- Completed 10/2010
3. Go to Jamaica to have our actual honeymoon
4. Read the rest of Jodi Picoult’s books -- Completed 7/3/10
5. Blow up prints of some of my favorite shots to frame around our house
6. Have a game night with Melissa once a month starting November
7. Workout 3 days a week for a month
8. Throw Lauren a baby shower -- Completed 1/17/09
9. Visit Lauren after the baby is born -- Completed 10/2/09
10. Hike Picacho Peak and take pictures for teaching
11. Hike Camelback Mountain -- Completed 12/2010
12. Run a mile (sad, I know, but I’ve never done it) -- Completed 11/10/09
13. Visit Lana in California -- Completed 6/14/2011
14. Go on a girls’ weekend to Vegas
15. Baby sit my nephews overnight
16. Re-read The Mark of the Lion Series by Francine Rivers - Completed October 18, 2010
17. Start my masters degree
18. Start sponsoring a child in Honduras
19. Visit our sponsored child in Honduras
20. Start mentoring a high school girl -- Completed August/September 2010
21. Cook 10 new dishes
22. Read another marriage book with Greg - Completed Summer 2010
23. Take a vacation to Washington D.C. -- Completed 3/17/10
24. Go skiing in Northern Arizona again
25. Visit Chris and Tiffany wherever they end up moving to -- Completed 2/8/10
26. Visit Dustin and Shannon in Colorado Springs -- Completed 10/27/08
27. Become CPR and First Aid Certified
28. Complete a bible study with my mom
29. Go on a day retreat alone
30. Go to NEW YORK - Updated 3/14/10 ~ The trip to Israel that we had planned didn't work out for us because of work. I had been under the impression that I had put "Go to New York" on my 101 list but apparently I had not. So, I've updated this goal since I thought I had it anyway and managed to achieve it. -- Completed 3/17/10
31. Get a new couch -- Completed 7/2009
32. Beat Guitar Hero on Hard – Stupid “Raining Blood” song
33. Pay off our debt from the summer and the move
34. Watch 15 movies off AFI’s top 100 movies list that I haven’t seen before
35. Assist Melissa with a wedding on another continent ☺
36. Read a history book - Completed 5/2010
37. Reorganize all of my school papers to eliminate copies and unwanted materials -- Completed 7/2009
38. Go back to Europe
39. Read a classic novel that I haven’t read before
40. See an eye doctor about getting glasses -- Completed 4/2009
41. Read the books of the Bible I haven’t read before
42. Take a history class at a local community college
43. Try out Bikram Yoga -- Completed 5/16/09
44. Memorize one of the letters in the Bible
45. Spend an evening looking at Christmas lights
46. Take a motorcycle riding class
47. Get my motorcycle license
48. Go on a motorcycle trip with Greg
49. Complete another cross-stitch - Completed 11/2010
50. Go to the Grand Canyon again
51. Go to a movie by myself - Completed 3/18/09
52. Donate blood – if they’ll let me ☺
53. Get a tattoo of our family verse
54. Participate in an autism fundraiser/walk - Completed 11/1/09
55. Go to a Dobson High football game for Homecoming (and make Christy go with me)
56. Organize a lake day with friends
57. Contact a former teacher to thank them for their influence in my life -- Completed 3/19/10
58. Send home 5 positive letters a month to students’ parents for 3 months straight
59. Travel to Tucson for Diamondbacks training camp
60. Attend a Cardinal’s football game in the new stadium
61. Visit San Francisco and Alcatraz Island
62. Create blueprints for three history units
63. Go to the beach -- Completed 10/7/10
64. Visit my sister, brother-in-law, and nephews in Show Low -- Completed 7/11/09
65. Make an appointment for allergy testing
66. Golf with my dad once a month for 6 months
67. Eat at the Melting Pot -- Completed 8/7/09
68. Go on a picnic with Greg and fly a kite while we’re there
69. Get rid of bathroom towels and buy new ones -- Completed 7/2009
70. Create a coffee table book of fun personal photos
71. Make another DVD for my nephews
72. Have a media-free night every week with Greg for 2 months
73. Spend an entire day in bed reading and watching movies
74. Go to a wine tasting
75. Clean out my closet every 4 months and donate unused clothes, shoes, and bags
76. Organize a dinner party with appetizers, drinks, main dish, dessert, and fun conversation
77. See a Cirque de Solei show
78. Take a spin class just to see what that’s like -- Completed 1/21/09
79. Visit Eric & Leslie in Windsor, CO
80. Send out Christmas cards
81. Go on a fun trip with Morgan
82. Spend some one-on-one time with Libby
83. Go to Magic Mountain again
84. Convince my cousin, Ryan, to visit me in AZ
85. Go shopping in Casa Grande

visit Canada! (specifically Alberta) - rated the number one "unbankrupt North American country"

I think I want to make a 100 in 1000 list (the extra 1 is too much)

Well done friend!! I'm very impressed. I'm especially looking forward to 81. :-)

You should add going to the shooting range with me! It is so much fun!!! Plus, you totally feel like Matt Damon in the Bourne Supremacy after. (My dad could supervise if we wanted..hahah!)
